The Opium War

China believe that they were a independent country so they didn't want to deal with other countries. Britain had something that Chinese people wouldn't resist that is call "opium," Chinese people used to use it as drugs. Britain wanted to deal with China because they wanted China's tea. After a few time Chinese people started to become addicted to opium. China's government started to get angry because opium was destroying their people and the whole country. In order to stop this they didn't want to deal with, The outcome of the war was predictable. The Chinese people lost miserably. China was no match for the British technology and better weapons.

"The White Man's Burden"

The white man burden was written by Rudyard Kipling in 1899. it was originally written for queen Victoria. It was perfectly normal that white men constantly tried to colonize and rule people of other nations for their own benefit, both the people and the work may be seen as representing the "burden" of the title. I agree with the analysis because white people were traveling around exploring the world and robing resources from other nations. Two nations for example are Africa and India. Once the white people found the cure for malaria and their technology advanced they were unstoppable with their machines guns. Well whenever a country will have the power to control another country it is possible that imperialism to occur again.

The Scramble For Africa

The term "Scrabble for Africa" meant how European countries ( France, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Portugal) were so obsessed with the new land that everybody wanted Africa for their resources. They were all competing for resources. There resources were gold, wood, rubber, iron, tin, diamond, silver, copper, salt, ivory and other valuables. They were able to dominate Africa because they just invented
the machine gun and they also found the cure for malaria. With the cure of malaria they were able to go to the jungles and not die of the mosquitoes bites.

Most of the new things that the Africans were know affect them because they had to gave to the British people some of them lands and they kill some of the people of Africa and separated some of them tribes, also this provided the families separated each one.

The Meiji Restoration of Japan

Mathew perry was a bully to the Japanese. He knew that he could take them down with his modern technology weapons. The Japanese were so defenseless because all they had were weak military. Japan wasn't very advanced in technology because they have been isolated from the rest of the world for a long time. America saw japan as a good source of reloading supplies like coal and water and food when the U.S ships are sailing. Mathew perry arrived to japan and tried to negotiate to open ports since it was a archipelago country meaning it has many island. The Japanese weren't so much willing to do that. Once the Japanese saw the ships with cannons and rifles and so high tech the Japanese knew they had to do what the Americans wished or not they will be conquered. The Japanese had to sign the treaty to open a port. From there on that opened the minds of the Japanese and they realized they have to catch up with the rest of the world because the isolation that they have been going through had caused them to be so far behind in technology. The Japanese sent their people to study foreign countries in Europe and to America.

Nationalism and the Creation of Italy

Nationalism is beautiful it shows the respect and honor you give for your country. Nationalism is when you give lots of pride to a country and are able to sacrifice for it. It can be your birth country or the country of your parents if they migrated from somewhere else or a country that you just simply want. Nationalism also is when you and your people share the same culture and history of your country and support your people and your country.Nationalism was used to create the nation of Italy because while it destroyed empires it also built nations. Italy was one of the countries form from the crumbling empires. Before this country was created it used to be a kingdom until 1946. After 1946 Italians voted for a republican constitution which included the entire Italian Peninsula.

The French revolution: social causes

Some of the causes that the French revolution ended was the ended of the regimen of the king Louis XVI, This stared when in 1789, although facing some economic and especially fiscals difficulties, was one of the richest and most powerful nations in Europe further, the masses of most other European powers had less freedom and less chance of arbitrary punishmen. At the same time Louis XVI called Estates -General he himself was generally popular, but the nobility and many of the king's ministers were not. Other causes were: fall the monarchy national convention and the reing of terror directory consulate, another was the storming of the Bastille etc. in 1787 was, at least in theory,an absolute monarchy, an increasingly unpopular form of government at the time. The three Estates of the french revolution were the nobilitys, clergy and the kings. Other important aspect in the french revolution are the thinkers of the Enlightenment, they had many influences in the French revolution about how were the governments in the countries etc.
